Services / Legacy Scan Recovery

Open old FARO scans without a SCENE licence

Scan projects tend to outlive the workstation, the licence and sometimes the person who captured them. We read archived .fls files directly and return them in open formats, so the data stays usable.

When this helps

  • The SCENE licence has expired and the project needs to be reopened.
  • A project was archived to a drive years ago and only the .fls files are left.
  • The colleague who ran the scanner has left, and nobody knows the workflow.
  • A client asks for the raw point cloud of a finished job in an open format.

What we can read

Scanners

Focus3D 120, S 120, X 130, X 130 HDR, X 330

File versions

iQLib 4.8, 5.0, 5.2 and 7.5

Layouts

Raw project folders and single-file processed .fls

Damaged files

A truncated scan is returned as far as it reads, marked as partial.

Other versions

Checked first, quoted only if we can read them.

Before we convert

We read every file first and tell you what came through cleanly, what is partial and what we could not verify. You decide what gets converted. Nothing is delivered with a silent gap.

Known limits of the engine

Send us an old scan, get it back as E57.

Share a link to one or more .fls files. We read them with Albireo, convert them and email you a link to the result. Four short steps, the first one is all we need to start.

Step 1 of 4. Your file first, details after.
